Retirement planning
Know when you can stop, and what it will take.
Whether retirement is ten years away or has already begun, the questions tend to be the same: what will we spend, when can we stop, and will the money last? I'll help you answer them with numbers you can trust, so you can look forward to retirement with confidence.
Questions we'll work through together
- How much will we actually spend in retirement, and how might that change over time?
- When can we afford to stop work, and what happens if one of us stops earlier?
- How should we draw an income from our super and investments?
- Where does the Age Pension fit in, now or later on?
- What should we be doing with super contributions in the years before we retire?
We start with spending
Most retirement plans start with a balance and work forwards. I start with what you spend, because that's the number that decides when you can stop work and how much you'll need. A good income can hide what a household really spends, so we take the time to work it out properly together, without judgement.
A plan that grows with you
Retirement isn't one big decision; it's a series of smaller ones over many years. Markets move, the rules change, and your own plans will shift too. Your plan should adapt alongside you, and you should understand every decision in it. I can do as much or as little of the heavy lifting as you'd like, and we'll review it regularly so you never have to wonder whether you're still on track.
Your decisions, made with confidence
You won't be told there's only one right way to do things. I'll lay out your options and what each one means for you, give you a clear recommendation and explain my reasoning, and then the decision is yours.
