Estate planning

Look after the people who matter most.

Estate planning isn't the most cheerful topic, but getting it right is one of the kindest things you can do for your family. I'll help make sure your money ends up where you intend, in the way you intend, with as little stress as possible for those you leave behind.

Questions we'll work through together

  • Who will receive our super, and are our death benefit nominations up to date and valid?
  • Could the people we leave money to end up paying more tax than they need to?
  • Do our wills, super and investments all point in the same direction?
  • Would a testamentary trust or other structure help protect our beneficiaries?
  • Who would manage our affairs if one of us could no longer do so?

Your super doesn't automatically follow your will

Many people are surprised to learn that super is usually dealt with separately from their will. Who receives it, and how much tax they pay, depends on how your super is set up and the nominations you've made. I'll review this with you and help you put things in order, so there are no unwelcome surprises.

Working alongside your lawyer

I'm not a lawyer, and I don't prepare wills or legal documents. What I do is make sure your financial plan and your estate plan fit together, and work with your lawyer, or one I trust, so the legal side reflects the financial picture accurately.

Peace of mind for everyone

Once it's done, most people tell me they feel a real sense of relief. You'll know your affairs are organised, your family will know what to expect, and we'll keep it up to date as your circumstances change.
